From California to Boston

First off a word on those who are scared, hurt or departed in Boston. Our thoughts are with you. We know you will shoulder the challenges now and in the future like you have since this great land's beginning. God bless.

This will be the first post that Mommy has not proofread as she and Holden stayed behind in California for an extra two weeks. We traveled as a family to Ontario, CA, in the San Bernadino valley for the Coachella music festival. Aunt Sarah and Damien live near the airport and picked us up. Grandma Charlotte flew in from Northern California to watch Holden. It was pretty tough to leave the young man on that Friday morning, knowing we wouldn't see him again until Monday morning. He showed how much of a big boy he was and didn't cry, although Mommy and Daddy wanted to. Aunt Sarah's house, yard, and pool were so amazing that Holden kept himself busy. He also enjoyed the drier weather and cool evenings. Man, it is tough to leave your kid. That was Mommy's first time and she did almost as good as Holden.
He flew well during the flights and took two 20 minute naps on Daddy's chest. Let us all wish Mommy smooth flying as she flies back with him and his sibling. I don't really have any anecdotes except for the pictures and captions below, so I will let them do the talking. There is one thing I would like to mention besides his rapidly growing vocabulary. He was given a soccer ball yesterday in Davis and immediately began dribbling it around the yard. Now maybe this is what happens when you walk in front of a ball or maybe it is innate as both Mommy and Daddy played many years, Mommy at a much higher skill level than Daddy. Well, I miss them both and cannot wait to see them. Enjoy the pictures.

Cool dude
The Dallas airport had many children's play areas. Holden loved it.

It was a big festival

Day 3, Sunday was sandy. I haven't seen a sandstorm like that since the Middle East.

Holden did well with Grandma Charlotte

There is a five mile stretch of road near Coachella with wind turbines as far as the eye can see.

Isn't Mommy pretty

Daddy sold his truck to a friend. Daddy was the original owner since 2004. Holden was especially sad as this was his toy too.
