Marriage Retreat

Holden after playing in the warm summer rain
So bi-annually the government pays for a weekend retreat for all married couples. The idea being if our soldier's marriages are healthy then the force is healthy. Last year it was at a very nice resort up the Keys about 50 miles. This year it was here in town...wah wah waaaah. We weren't going to go but then decided the Sheraton didn't sound so bad, what with fresh sheets, child care and free food. The first night was introductions and dinner so Laila handed off the boy to the contracted child care staff and we said our goodbyes. This was the first time leaving him with a stranger, ever. Well, Laila went to pick him up after an hour and sure as I am sitting here he was holding a sip cup, drinking. Now if you've been following our young protagonists adventures you know he is only on breast milk and a few choice foods. Laila said in her sternest nice-voice, "Um what is that?", the reply," Chocolate milk, why? this isnt his?"
Well, of course it wasn't and what kind of child care "professional" feeds a 6 month old 2% non organic milk? Well I'm sure Holden thought it was delicious but his innocent tummy rejected it a couple of hours later. So the next time we dropped him off we went into another room as three care givers were utilizing two hotel suits. We walk in and it's two different women who look and sound like Marge Simpson's sisters. We said we were looking to feed him in a quiet spot before we dropped him off for good and they said, "We have some chocolate chip cookies". Laila then left him with a how-to care for Holden manual.
Well, overall Laila and I enjoyed ourselves and realized every one else argues about the same stuff we do. Also, to have a communicative relationship requires sincerity and respect.
Looking for the organic puff meant for his mouth
Sitting up straight on his 6 mo. cake day
New toys
Griffin men
Holden also has two real obsessions now. He loves cold objects, like the beer bottle video most of you have seen and these toys with water in them frozen in the freezer. Then there is Skip-it, some sort of cloth bunny with a silk underbelly, that he requires to have on his face during slumber.
