Holden Cyrus spent this evening like he does many evenings. Pacing back and forth in the kitchen moaning and groaning in an effort to speed his dinner preparation along. Mommy does her best and gives us a feast every night. Tonight was an ethnic Persian dish called Gormeh Sabzi which literally means stewed greens (cilantro, parsley, leeks, fenugreek and dried limes).
A begging Holden, feigning near starvation, was able to coax a piece of Parmesan cheese used for the salad from Mommy. Holden walked to Daddy to show his prize and Daddy feigned jealousy, asking for a piece too. Holden understood this request and marched right back to the kitchen to get Daddy the same type of treat. You all know what happens next...
Holden makes it half way and the temptation overwhelms him, he eats it. Daddy cries, "Why?" and Holden marches back to Mommy to right his wrong. Holden is then given two pieces, with clear guidance, "one for Daddy and one for Holden". Well, this time both are gone before he even leaves the kitchen. Daddy never got any cheese.
Holden is normally a great sharer, provided there is plenty to share.
Aunt Margaret and Uncle Roger were in Naples on business and decided to take the two hour ferry to Key West to spend time with Holden. It was great family fellowship and Holden enjoyed it. During one of the excursions with the extended family Holden was especially fussy. Daddy, apologized out of embarrassment and made out loud erroneous excuses. To which Uncle Roger replied, "Well he is one." And he is absolutely right, this kid, is only one.
We hope each and every reader got some sort of break for spring or is planning on one. Holden has tickets to Coachella in April so will be traveling to California during that time to see Phoenix, Chili Peppers, WuTang clan and Yeasayer, among others.
