Daddy doesn't really like the sirens either |
|
If Daddy looks this bad ass in 20 years, mission accomplished. |
A new day with new adventures. Watching an 11 month old child is really
amazing. You get to see how you learned all the daily things you take for granted. Do
you remember when you learned to turn on a light switch? Or the first
time you pointed? Everyday Holden shows us what he learns by doing.
Holden will go to bed smarter than he woke up this morning. He is a
great guy to be around.Of all the hand and arm signals we try to teach Holden he has taken to one and uses it a lot. The palm to face tap, indicating sleep, is really great to see from a child. He is so responsible! I mean, who does that?! Anyways, he tells us when it is time for naps and we think that is great.

Can we pet? |
|
Yes! |
|
OJsicle for the cold |
|
I learned to wipe! |
He points at just about everything saying a word that sounds very much like, "this". He has a new toilet seat that allows him to read while taking his morning constitutional. He really does not push the walking thing preferring to sit and only pull up to stand when it suits him.
He has been a bit sick lately. Mostly a running nose and a wet cough. We respond with frozen OJsicles, teething chewable tablets, and a manual nose sucker that requires an adult to suck from one end while the other is in his nose. That is definitely his least favorite.

Here you go, I want you to have this |
Mommy is watching a girl, pictured below named Corinne. This is the same family that Mommy shares babysitting duties with in turn for date nights.Holden enjoys the company. He will however get pretty upset when Mommy picks her up. This is something we are working on.
|
If it fits, I sits. Holden picking up Corinne's table scraps. |
|
Holden eats like a Hyena next to a lady so well mannered as Corinne. You can see here the guilt has set in as he has a full belly. Its like a date, " Wow, I'm really sorry about that. I must have been hungrier than I thought." This is almost exactly like Mommy and Daddy's first few outings. |
The Griffins are headed to California this week to see all of our family and friends. Mommy and Daddy will also try to run 13.1 miles and look good while doing it. Yesterday was Veteran's Day and Key West had a small parade down Duval St. with the local military, VFW, KoC and other groups. Holden enjoyed the police horses, HS marching band, flag waiving and clapping for the vets. He did not enjoy the police sirens.
