First things first a few anecdotes to let you in on the life and times of Holden and Harrison. We don't go to church often but when we do it is an exercise in futility. Holden will not tolerate the two-n-under room and does not appreciate being left there. In his defense I sat with him for a while and was reminded of an insane asylum. One kid was banging his head another had a river of mucus flowing from his nose and there was at least two dirty diapers. From now on we are going to lie about his age and put him with a more senior group.
Wild things in a moment of calm. Note the presence of Skip-It which is discussed later in the blog. |
Holden is about 79% potty trained and starts preschool at the Presbyterian church in January. The other night we went caroling with other neighbors and Holden danced and sang and made a new neighborhood friend who is three years old. Prior to this his only other neighborhood friend is 70, so this is a big deal. He continues to show a real aptitude for music and the other day exclaimed, "Trumpet" during a trumpet solo on the Coltrane Pandora station.
We are working on our manners and Holden can consistently say, "Yes Ma'am", unfortunately it is to both parents. The sneaky guy will use is at an excuse to yell "NO!....yes ma'am."
Oh! I almost forgot. Probably one of the most significant events of this blog has occurred recently. It is with great sadness that we lament the loss of "Skip-It", Holden's security stuffed animal he has had since birth. In Holden's words, "Skip-It..gone...door...God.....heaven". It has been truly heartbreaking, at first a desperate search and then sleepless nights. We are by far the cruelest parents on the planet. There will be a final memorial service in January, in lieu of flowers, bacon, pop corn and candy should be sent to Holden's address.
Harrison has great head control at three months and follows his big brother all around with his eyes. He smiles with his whole face and is sleeping very well. He loves to practice his grip and is trying to roll over.
We might have a blue eyed boy |
